Terms and Conditions

The vehicle is rented in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. If you want to rent a car through our rent a car Cluj service, please read the conditions below carefully.

• Reservations can be made online or by phone, during working hours.

• After submitting the online form, you will receive a confirmation email within a maximum of 12 hours.
• You pay nothing when you book; payment is made when you pick up the car. Our only request: let us know at least 72 hours before pick-up if you no longer want the car, so we can cancel the booking at no cost.

• Valid driving license (national or international) and minimum age of 21 years.
• Compliance with traffic rules.
• Smoking and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs are prohibited.
• Any malfunction must be reported, and repairs are only carried out with our consent.

• Valid ID or passport.
• Valid driving license.
• A credit card is not mandatory.

• Prices are those displayed on the rates page.
• Full payment is made upon signing the contract.
• We accept cash in RON, EURO, USD or other convertible currencies.
• Payment methods: Cash, Card, Bank transfer

All cars have:

• RCA insurance, Rovinietă (road tax): included in the price.
• CASCO: included in the price on all cars except the economy models (Dacia Logan and Dacia Sandero Stepway), where it is optional. For damage covered by CASCO, only the claim handling fee is charged: a fixed 100 EUR per incident, the same for all cars. The exception is a total loss, which is handled according to the rental contract.

The client will pay:

• Any fines received during the rental period.
• Damages caused by improper use.
• Damage to goods in the vehicle.
• The insurance does not cover technical faults or damage to the bodywork (dents, scratches) or a broken engine guard resulting from driving on unpaved roads. The customer will pay a penalty of 300-500 EUR and, where applicable, the full cost of repairs if it is established, by any means, that the car was driven on non-public or unpaved roads: over a total (cumulative) distance of more than 1.5 km, regardless of speed, or at a speed above 15 km/h on any section of the route, regardless of its length.
• The customer is responsible for damage to the tyres (punctures, cut tyres, etc.), scratched rims and impacts to the underside of the car (engine guards, etc.), as these are considered improper use and are not covered by insurance companies.
• The customer is directly responsible for damage to the interior of the car: smoking in the car, cigarette burns, tears or stains on the upholstery, a broken dashboard or other damaged accessories in the car.
• The full list of terms and conditions is set out in the rental contract. Please read it carefully when you rent the car.
• The car must be returned with a full tank, just as it was delivered. If it is not returned full, the Customer will pay 3 EUR for every missing liter up to full, calculated when the car is returned to the company.

• The car is delivered clean, disinfected, with a full tank and seasonal tyres.
• Pickup/drop-off at the Office and Cluj Airport is free between 08:00-22:00.
• Outside the 08:00-22:00 window, a night fee of 10 EUR applies for the drop-off and, separately, 10 EUR for the pick-up (10 EUR for each one, if both fall outside the window).
• Pickup/drop-off at other locations: additional fee depending on distance and time.
• Simple and easy process, just 5 minutes
• On return, a delay of up to one hour from the agreed time is accepted at no extra cost. For longer delays, the Customer must notify Simple Rent staff in advance; depending on the situation and the car's availability for the next booking, an extra day of rental may be charged.

• Notify us 3 hours before drop-off and also one day before.
• The car must be returned with a full tank (maximum 10 km before drop-off).
• The car does not need to be as clean as at pickup, but it must not be so dirty that possible damage or scratches are hidden.

• Exceeding the km limit for which you received a discount will be charged according to the contract.
• Only drivers aged between 25 and 65 who have held their driving licence for more than 3 years are eligible for the 0 deposit. Any other age or licence seniority is classed as a risk age/period, in which case the company has to pay additional compensation to the insurer in the event of damage, which is why a deposit of 300-500 EUR will be charged.

• The client covers the costs for replacing lost documents, keys or accessories.
• The contract extension is only made with our consent, 24h in advance.
• Crossing borders is only permitted with our written consent.
• The additional driver is free of charge, but must be mentioned in the contract.
• By signing the rental contract, you agree to the above terms and conditions.

• Car rental services booked for a specific date or period are exempt from the 14-day right of withdrawal, under art. 16 (l) of Romanian Government Ordinance OUG 34/2014 (car rental services provided on a specific date or for a specific period).
• Instead, we offer our own cancellation policy: you can cancel your booking free of charge at least 72 hours before picking up the car.
